I don't see how graduating mid-year would make you miss out on grad school in any way. You can still apply for for the next fall exactly the same. Most schools don't accept mid-year admissions, and it woud only be a bonus possibility anyway.

If I satisy all requirements in three years or by my seventh semester, will the college automatically inform me to graduate? Or would I have to fill out a form in order to officially graduate? (College of Chemistry)

If I stay idle for the spring semester because I graduate early, would graduate schools frown upon this?

What if I plan to work towards more than one degree? If I satisfy all the requirements for one degree by my seventh semester, but need only one more course for another degree, would I still be forced to graduate? Or would I need to submit a form to declare my intention to graduate or delay my graduation for one more semester (for a total of 8)?

Thanks for all of your replies to my previous questions.

graduating early means you were committed to your studies and you were able to keep your grades up while going at a faster pace than others. i don't see why grad schools wouldn't like someone who can manage this. plus, you can always work or do something else instead of being idle.

vicissitudes: I am sure those are correct numbers for 1999 but I believe I have seen higher numbers for a more recent year... can't find where I saw it or remember the exact number but somewhere in the mid to high 80's... has anyone else seen this printed somewhere or know this to be true?

Here's the thing CA2006, if iyou measure a year like...2001, well how do you measure how many people graduated in 6 years or less? Those who graduate in 6 years will graduate next year. When Berkeley comes out with CDS 2006-2007 I think that will provide the 2000 cohort which should be the most recent.

But, I also suspect that students now are probably graduating at a slightly higher rate. Average GPA has slowly climbed so that would make sense.
