What is the average increase in tuition, and when are tuition increases next expected

Does someone have the data where I can find what is the average increase in tuition, and when are tuition increases next expected for specific universities?

Also if I’m the class of 2011 should further tuition increases bother me? Or I should pay the tuition that is fixed for class of 2011

And what is the average tuition increase generally?

Thanks

Some colleges have already released their 2007-08 numbers; do a search on their website. You can also search for past tuition/room/board/fees numbers, too, and calculate the annual increases. Schools raise their prices every year.

As a general rule of thumb, I assumed that the cost would increase 5% each year. Some schools go up more, others less. And then there is Princeton, who didn't raise tuition but increased room and board 19%, so I think the total cost went up about 4.5 percent.

I'm not sure what you mean by your question about whether you should pay the tuition fixed for the class of 2011.

Some schools have an option to pay today's tuition rate for each of the 4 years, but they often require you to pay the entire sum up front. This is only really helpful for those who have $100,000 + handy that they don't they have better uses for. Private college tuition and fees have been increasing at about a 5% rate. Many public university tuition charges have been increasing at a much faster rate, reflecting flat or falling contributions from state legislatures.

"I'm not sure what you mean by your question about whether you should pay the tuition fixed for the class of 2011."

I wanted to say that if I’m the class of 2011 should I pay 2007-08 fixed number (say 30K, tuition and fees) or I should pay the increased cost every year? (30K + 5% in 2008-09 than in 2009-2010 (30K+5%)+5%) I just wanted to know if the increased cost policy also refers to the students who already are enrolled?

Thanks

dadx3. O now I understand. Thanks
