What is the average score for CHEM 3AL lab reports?

i am wondering what we should be scoring on them since in the end 41% receives an A and 42% receives an A- ....

so out of 10 points, how have you been scoring?

10, 9.4, 8.7, 10
apparently on the 8.7 one everyone got around the same because none of wrote what “we needed to write”

ok-so the prelab is always out of 1 right? well in the syllabus it says to get credit for the prelab you must include what is required in the lab manual-which i did. for one lab though, i think the indentifying an unknown one, my gsi gave me a 0 for the prelab for not including a purpose and it didnt require it in the prelab-and the gsi never told us about this before! did your gsi do this too ever?

for the 8.7 are you referring to the Melting point lab?

no i know its a straight scale…LH, do you happen to know about the prelab scoring q i asked above?

Yea the 8.7 was the melting point. You have to talk to your gsi about the purpose, but i mean i’ve put one in whether or not the lab asked for it just in case something like your situation arises. lol. i had points taken off for having a conclusion on a different page before even though i remember pederson saying it could be on a separate page.

Sigh, I still remember the days of arbitrary OChem lab grading…
