What is the average starting salary for a BSCS grad in Silicon Valley?

I have several interviews coming up and wanted to know what a competitive salary is for a BSCS grad from a non-ivy school?

These are for software engineer positions at small (10-50) to medium (150-500) sized companies.

At first I thought $75000 would be good but after hearing how hot the job market is, am I low-balling myself?

Nope. If you can get the top firms, you might get more. I always hear of high numbers, but there are a ton of people who receive lower offers than you, around the 60-65k range.

Try for a better position if you can get one, but I wouldn’t do it at the expense of this one.

(Also, fluctuates greatly depending on location. Sometimes, it’s a 20k difference between Dallas and NYC)
