I am new to San Jose and just going back to cc after a 1 year break. I want to get the best education and chances of transferring to Berkley. Any with great TAP programs or the best counselors? Thanks for the help!

Foothill College has the highest transfer rate in California, but De Anza is pretty much the same thing because they are sister schools. So Foothill College or De Anza.

I would choose Foothill since it’s easier to get classes there. In fact, a lot of students from De Anza also take classes at Foothill since that’s the only way they were able to get a certain class (like science classes, those are super impacted at De Anza). So you could go with one school, or both (as in, take classes from both schools at once).

San Jose City College. Can’t go wrong baby!

U can also consider Chabot College, a very pretty college. Especially after the construction and staff are very helpful there. highly recommend!@! however, De Anza and Diablo Valley college are also the two best college for student who have a higher transfer expectation.

deanza hands down!

Foothill + De Anza for sure. They have many more classes available than Chabot and it’s closer to San Jose.

Foothill + De Anza are also the only schools on quarter. Foothill has the TAP program for UCLA if you’re interested in that.

Diablo Valley College isn’t in the south bay…

And depending where you’re from in the south bay, it’ll be a pain in the neck to commute there. Really pretty campus, though!

It’s a biiiiiiit of a drive but I goto West Valley, we have a really nice TAP program and a decent campus (although it’s somewhat in a state of disarray now with some construction going on, less so than in the last year though). We have agreements with Foothill on that TAP program.

lol city college ftw (well not really)…at least the commute isn’t too bad from where i live

DEFINITELY NOT EVC.

11 applicants to UCLA, 5 got accepted.

What’s this supposed to mean? Not a lot of people want to transfer.

I’ve only met people who want to go to SJSU, and a couple who wanted to go to a UC.

And we have no tap.

I like the location though. It’s so laid back and FRESH. Some people don’t prefer the laid back atmosphere because it makes them lazy.

I suggest you go to De Anza. I’ve heard a lot of nice things about it.
