<p>Honestly, I think it’s great if you can get a job that relates to your field so you can figure out if it’s REALLY what you want to pursue and helps you get to know faculty in that field. Both of my kids did this and while the short-term pay may not have been as high as some other jobs, it has helped S get a job in his field prior to graduation. It also helped solidify D’s choice of field and got her exceptional recs that helped her get INTO the highly competitive school.</p>
