I just recently got accepted into NYU and was wondering what dorm I should apply to. I also have a question about the liberal studies program. I didn't get into CAS but I got into LSP. Are there any major differences? Anything will help :) thanks!

Hayden and Founders are probably the two best freshman dorms. I’d definitely say apply to those as first and second choices. Hayden is five minutes away from pretty much everything NYU, has a dining hall, and is generally pretty. Founders is the newest (and thus cleanest) dorm, right by Palladium and 3rd North dining halls, has huge rooms, great study lounges, and is right by the gym.

As for LSP/CAS… the only real differences are the required courses you have to take. CAS students take MAP classes, while LSP students have a different set of very specific requirements to fulfill. Once you finish your required classes, though, you’ll be taking CAS classes anyway, so there will be literally no difference. And then of course after your sophomore year you’ll be in CAS, unless you decide to move on to a different school within NYU.

Thank you for the advice! I feel really good about choosing NYU. I think I will apply to Hayden. Do you know if a room with 3 ppl is super crowded? or is it tolerable?
