<p>It needs to be a self-study book in the sense that it has to contain all of the necessary information. I am not looking for a study guide or outline. I am taking the test purely out of interest (I am actually a university student), because I am transferring to the USA. I want to know something about the country, and I don't want to get slaughtered in US History classes if I take them.</p>
<p>Why can no one take the time to answer? 37 people looked at it; I’m sure some of you have written the SAT US History test and done well on it. Give me a hand, guys. It’s not that difficult to recommend a book.</p>

I definitely recommend Princeton Review and Kaplan (AND is the key word), but avoid Barron’s! My average scores on the ones from Princeton Review and Kaplan were 750, while Barron’s was 590. I got a score of 770 in May and I’m retaking it in June
Also, a tip- focus a lot on modern history</p>
<p>The AMSCO book is undoubtedly the best review book in my opinion. Even though it is meant for APUSH, the content is the same.</p>

content and shows you how to write essays and use AP Central too</p>
<p>Crash Course would be amazing for last night cramming. On the May SAT, Collegeboard used almost exact phrasing from Crash Course. Ex: The talented 10th statement by W.E.B Du Bois and the Native American’s use of mother’s clan (something like that) were from Crash Course and showed up on the May SAt</p>
