What is the best way of getting from Brown to the local Amtrak/MBTA station?

There isn’t a direct bus route there…

Honestly…walking. Or taking a taxi

I’ve always just walked.

Is it really hilly though? And don’t most the taxi drivers not give out receipts?

I guess I don’t really have much of a choice in it then, but that’s fine.

Where are you coming from? From Boston, I usually take the commuter rail to providence station and walk to college hill, it’s a bit hilly at a few parts but it’s a lovely walk and a great way to explore providence. Te walk really isn’t bad, plus with all the recent gorgeous weather I’d rather walk than take a cab. It’s about 10-15min walking and a 5min taxi ride, depending on which one and what time it can cost you anywhere from $5-15.

If you walk up the stairs at RISD (there’s a blogdailyherald article about it somewhere) it’s a bit easier!

It’s a $5 taxi ride if you really don’t want to walk. I almost always walk unless I’ve got a really heavy bag with me or it’s raining/snowing.

I’m pretty sure that by law if you ask for a receipt they have to give you one.
