my friend went with his date to prom last week, and she does drugs and other questionable stuff. and ever since then she has been coming on to him, following him between periods at school and at lunch, and hes trying to avoid her cuz hes really not interested. he still wants to be her friend, but she is looking for something more than that.

how do u politely decline her advances without hurting her feelings?

Why was this necessary to tell us?

Um, I guess he could just say that with college around the corner he has no interest in investing himself into a big relationship that he knows will end in a few months.

"No." /comment/

go with the too busy for a relationship right now, and it just doesn't seem like it will work out... act like you feel a little bad turning them down, nice about it, but not leaving openings for future possibilties (unless you actually want that...). it usually seems to work.
it doesn't help when the person is always depressed/semi-suicidal....
but still works.

Why was this necessary to tell us?

Because if he didn't everyone would say "Oh, just tell him to give her a chance."

"I'm HIV positive"

Be sure that your friend inserts that into casual conversation. Hilarity ensues.

^ l0l. But doesn't it take more time to type the zero than the o? This is really worrying me, collegeguy. Will you help me to understand your psyche a bit more?

mmm, yes very complex that issue is. I think lol looks a little small. l0l seems to have more substance.

I know that doesn't make sense. Also, it's sort of like 1337-speak ;)

Uhhhhh.....what is 1337-speak, please?

^^ Ahhh...
nods sagely
And thank you for the smileys.
I'm going to go now. It was nice talking to you though.

lol thx for hijacking my thread guys ;)

l0l blame the moderators on that one :D

"<insert first="" name="">, college is just around the corner and I think that we should give each other some space. Don't get me wrong, you're smart, funny, beautiful, and great to be around. I just don't want to miss out on the college experience, you know what I mean. I hope that this doesn't come between us, and I wish that we could be friends."</insert>

or simply:

"I'm gay."

whichever one your friend prefers.

I tell people, "No thanks," to which I always get confused looks followed by a bit of hurt mixed in...but yeah.

the second one works l0l

Guy: do you want to go out?

Me: Oh no! Can you help me with my homework?!

and thus the guy totally forgets about his question and the fact that I didn't answer it ;)
