What is the center of BC's campus?

After visiting BC three times, I fail to see some sort of student center/union, a place where students can hang out, relax, lounge, etc. All of the other schools I have looked at and visited contain one of these and I think it is great because all the students can hang out there and have a place to be when not in class or sleeping. So my question is, where do BC students really hang out when they are not in class, sleeping, or in the library? What is the “center” or hub of social life on campus?

Also, how often would you say the average student takes the T into Boston, and what they usually do there?

…have you been to dust bowl?

There is no student center on campus, but it’s in the works under BC’s master plan. There are many places students just lounge around like in the back of Fulton, the front of Higgins, Hillside Cafe, the dustbowl, and the area outside of Hillside just to name a few. You’ll find your spots on campus though.

Students probably take the T into the city once every two weeks to either catch a movie, go out to dinner, hit up a club/bar, etc.

There are several “watering holes” around BC where students congregate in large number. The Plex is one obvious example. The Mods are a major party central during the weekend. Other major locales are usually the major dining facilities. “Lower” for lower campus and McElroy for upper campus. But, as miragemage put it, there is no super central center for students. They’ll probably build it by the time my first born enters Pre-K. (I don’t have any kid.)

oh okay i understand, thanks a lot for the responses!

McElroy is your best bet. As of now there is really no Student Center, rather most things are located in McElroy if not somewhere else. In the Master Plan they are calling for a new Student Center building where everything would be located.

I’ve been into the city a few times, mostly to go get stuff for my room, but I feel like some students go into the city for Sports (Sox, Celts, Bruins), some concerts, maybe a nice dinner in the North End… The city has a lot to offer. As to how many students actually go into the city, I have no idea.

hi I have another question.
does anybody know what a freshman CSOM student’s schedule looks like? for both semesters? generally
i heard BC has a large core, is it inflexible? do you get to take other classes of interest to you? how hard is it to double major?
