I searched their website, but couldn't find an answer. Do they have a relatively large or small set of required general education courses? Can any of it be mitigated with AP Credit? Links, anyone? Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure if you're talking about the University Requirements for LSA, but those can be found here: LSA Degree Requirements

To sum it up:

Lower Level Language (Usually Freshmen English I Believe)

Upper Level Language

4 Semesters of Foreign Language

Race and Ethnicity

Quantitative Reasoning (Either 1 QR/1 Class or 2 QR/2 Classes)

Distribution Requirements:
7 Social Science Credits
7 Natural Science Credits
7 Humanities Credits
3 Credits in 3 of the Following: Social Science, Natural Science, Humanities, Math and Symbolic Analysis (MSA), Creative Expression (CE)

and for the record, AP credits dont really help you with distribution requirements, so if you were like me and though ur AP Psych, Enviornmental, US, and NSL credits would help get me out of some classes, you'll be wrong. Lol

You'll be able to take some higher level classes with AP creds, but it doesnt excuse u from those reqs

Also, that last part means 3 credits in EACH of 3 of the following. You can't do 1 credit in each, lol.

Can any of the classes that you take in high school count towards your Gen Ed requirements? or is it only the AP credits and SAT II scores??

I think it's only classes taken at UMich-AA, or some transfer equivalents if you petition them and they decide to accept them.

If you take dual enrollment while in high school, then I believe that those credits can be used towards your distribution requirements.

My cousin just graduated from U of M and he told me that if I send my transcript from the community college I took classes at after I enroll at Michigan, then they will transfer automatically and I can use them for my distribution.

UM ann arbor is picky about the dual enrollment thing. They'll accept some credits, but you can't double dip - if one of the classes you took while dual enrolled was to fulfil a requirement for high school, they won't count it as college credit.

Does anyone know the general requirements for the college of Art and Design?
