Hey,

I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to get a Cal Grant A or B. There's a big difference. The A will pay for all of your tuition at a California school, up to $9,000 a year. The B just give you $1,500.

The A says it is available for people who have a minimum GPA of 3.0, whereas the min for the B is 2.0. I hear there are 22,500 grants total to be handed out.

They are divvied up competitively, based on the following scale, (so I learned):
GRADE POINT AVERAGE (GPA) 70 Max
PARENT EDUCATIONAL LEVEL (Mother and Father) 18 Max
ACCESS EQUALIZER 18 Max
STUDENT or PARENT HOUSEHOLD STATUS 18 Max
FAMILY INCOME and HOUSEHOLD SIZE 76 Max

MY QUESTION IS: If I have an EFC of 0, and the GPA they submitted for me was 3.56, do I have a good change of getting the Cal Grant A?

I really wish it went off the UC GPA (mine is 3.85). O well
