For what? You must submit your application by that date but have until March 31 to complete most of your packet (i.e., CFA, teacher recs). In reality, most people are finished or nearly so by now. Also, MOC noms are due at USNA by Jan 31. Thus, if you haven't already applied for a nom, you are behind the 8-ball as you won't be able to get one from an MOC and must rely on the other sources.

I still have not done my DoDMERB . . . I called the scheduling office and they said they couldn't schedule anything because I was not approved?
What does that mean?

It may be that you have not qualified as an official candidate. It may mean you have not submitted enough of your packet.

I already have a nomination, but I was not able to do the CFA for awhile because I had some problems with the email being sent to the teacher. School was blocking all emails or something like that. I contacted the regional director and it was sorted out, but when I was going to take it I came down with an extremely bad sinus infection that put me out for 2 weeks.

Only things I have missing is the CFA and medical but I contacted medical saying I was not approved. I already made an account on the DoDMERB link in the candidate profile, but can not do anything further. I am taking the CFA tomorrow. Finally.

You have until March 1 (not 31 -- my error) to complete your CFA. Sooner is better. Still not sure what "not approved" means re your medical exam. Have you not taken your medical exam or did you take it and are DQ'ed medically?

I have not taken the medical exam. It says I was added to the system, and I was able to fill out my social security number and make an account. They have not contacted me to schedule any appoint however. I called them requesting to schedule then they said I was not approved. I am not sure what that means either.

On the form you got in the mail it will have 2 or 3 doctors listed on it, for an eye, medical, and hearing exam. You have to individually schedule your appointments with these independent agencies, dodmerb won't do it for you. Once you have the appointments scheduled with each agency, you will then go to your dodmets site and input your appointment information, as well as fill out a medical questionarre online.

You need to have a certain amount of your application done before they will send you anything... so if you are waiting on submitting something... don't wait too long!

Basically the real deadline is March 31, but the real real deadline is THURSDAY. As people have said before me, if you are waiting until you get a candidate number or anything, send everything you have with you SSN on it. DoDMERB on the other hand you have to have about 50% of your app before they will do that.

I already submitted everything. Math rec, personal statement, activities, nomination, interview...I just don't have DoDMERB medical.

Is there some type of paperwork or something I am missing that I need to send to the Academy? I didn't get any paperwork and wasn't aware there was any.

[ul]
[li]On Jan 2 you were entered in the system by DODMERB via USNA.
[/li]

[li]On Jan 30, Concorde received notice to schedule your exam.
[/li]

[li]The USNA is the only SA that you have applied for (or the only one that has requested your medical status as of yesterday).
[/li]

[*]There has been no determination as to your medical status as of yesterday.[/ul]

Yay! The deadline is today which means that one part of the wait is over. Now for the Admissions Board to determine who gets the nomination from a slate of ten...at least in some cases...!

Just to set things straight, like USNA1985 stated earlier, the initial application must be complete by January 31st and everything else must be submitted by March 1st.

I got this information from the caelendar on the USNA site, which is in the same location as the Catalog.
