What is the degree called that I obtain after graduating from the ILR?

Once I graduate from the ilr, what is the degree called?

Am I a bachelor of science? A bachelor of Industrial and labor relations?

Also, does it say Cornell on it, even though ilr is a contract school?

And if it isn't too weird, does anyone have a picture of an ilr diploma?

Thanks.

it just says "SUNY" really big.

NOOOO!!!

lol.

shakes head

Yup it literally says

SUNY ILR: SUNY School of Industrial and Labor Relations

^ it literally says all of that.

Remember, cut up that way it's permanent.

I wouldn't say it's REALLY big. You still have to make room for "Bachelor's of Industrial and Labor Relations" (BILR for short).

Splintercell you are scaring me. I've seen some of your other posts and you did not seem to know what ILR was when you applied. Also, your comments on the UMich website were really insulting. ILR grads have a Cornell Bachelor of Arts diploma - I've seen one. ILR is the top school of its type in the world and is recognized everywhere. Goldman Sachs holds a special investment banking recruiting event just for ILR students. ILR students study the work place - socially and economically. For some people, it is a more interesting way of learning business as an undergrad, or is a precursor to law school or business school. The students at ILR are interesting and outspoken. Go to the ILR website and you'll see what ILR is about - I'm surprised you were admitted with so many questions and hesitations.

I've also read your posts in here and in the UMich forum, and I completely agree with starbound. you should stop worrying about prestige and think about where you fit. Any top-25 university can give you a great education, so it's more about where you think you would be able to thrive.

I thought you got into CALS, anyway?

I agree with both of you, starbound and zdub. Having just looked at Splintercell's posts on the Michigan forum, I'm a little scared as well. Splintercell, it's interesting how you constantly refer to Cornell being "better" than Michigan and brag about it on Michigan's forum, while here on the Cornell boards, you're actually experiencing a lot of doubt about Cornell. Prestige isn't everything. I can sense that you're kind of realizing this, with all your questions about ILR. A school's prestige tells you nothing about the specific programs a school offers. Knowing what kind of degree your college offers is something that you do basic research on before you apply. I'm not trying to attack you. I just want you to put things into perspective, otherwise you might end up miserable at Cornell. I can tell you that most Cornellians are level-headed and don't take kindly to people who like to brag about perceived prestige. We love Cornell, but we don't sit and bask in our Ivy League glory 24/7. Life isn't like that. Anyway, I hope all the best for you.

Haha, wow this kid is funny. He insults Michigan and then is panicking over here because he has no idea what degree he gets from ILR. Prestige isn't everything...

All kidding aside, Bachelors of Science, Industrial and Labor Relations (BSILR.)

Splintercell: Your threads are getting more and more ridiculous. Think about what you write before you actually write. Like others said, if you come to Cornell just bc of the prestige, you won't end up happy here. We've seen those people on CC many times.

Thanks guys for the answers. I am sorry if I came off as being arrogant or whatever.

I have two more questions though.

If I minor in economics from Arts and Sci, will it show up on my diploma/transcript? (As in will employers see.)

And for the final question to end my quest for info:

On the diploma, does it say Cornell University or SUNY?

Answer these two questions, and I shall leave you guys alone with questions.

are you really that caught up with what it says on your diploma, youre still going to cornell and youre still getting the same education

Yes, now please answer the question....

splintercell.....I suggest you just call the department(ILR) and ask them.

It says SUNY.

State University of New York- Ithaca
School of Industrial and Labor Relations

:p

It says SUNY, I have one sitting in my room.

Are you guys lying?

If this is true....ah....
