What is the difference between a "suite" style dorm and just a regular dorm????

I was told that a suite dorm doesn't even have a private bathroom, so I was wondering what does it have that a regular dorm doesn't???? Allison rooms are actually bigger than the "suite" style 1835 Hinman rooms.

A suite-style dorm is where 4-5 people generally share one private bathroom. In a regular dorm, up to 10-15 people may share a public bathroom at Northwestern.

so the ONLY difference between a suite dorm and a regular dorm is the number of people sharing a bathroom?????

The suites also usually have extra living quarters (including bay windows, sofas, chairs, tables, and sometimes a kitchen with a microwave).

but the rooms are like any other dorm right? except for maybe windows?

From what i've seen, some of the nicer dorms are suite style. But that's not to say that some halls aren't so bad. A lot of what people don't like about halls is that noise travels down the halls, and on eperson being noisy can bother the entire floor since its one hall. Conversely, some people say suites makes you too antisocial and you don't even know people on your own floor.

Suite style rooms are usually smaller than the hall style rooms, though this is b no means a hard and fast rule. I would recommend looking at the various hall's websites for information on that- most explain it and show pictures. For instance:
