What is the difference between Calculus BC and AB
In my BC class, we delved more into the specific methods and techniques of optimization, and solids by integration etc. The AP exam was actually in the same room as the AB class, since it was essentially the same test, with a few exceptions.
depending on the school there are one of two scenarios:
One: Calc AB = Calc 1, Calc BC = Calc 1 and 2
In this case students take either AB or BC, BC moves faster and covers more topics than AB, including sequences and series, parametric and polar functions etc. but covers all AB topics like basic differentiation and integration as well
Two: Calc AB = Calc 1, Calc BC = Calc 2
In this case students take AB one year then BC the next. AB covers the basics like differentiation and integration, then BC covers things like sequences and series and advanced applications of differentiation and integration, in addition to a possible review of AB.
For more information, look at the college board curriculums for both classes.
In terms of college credit, Calculus AB is Calculus 1 and Calculus BC is Calculus 2. Now, in terms of material, Calculus BC will include everything learned in Calculus AB plus more stuff.
Thank you all for answering
I want to ask if Calculus BC is hard for a strong person in math?
Well Calculus BC which is calculus 2 in college course name. Calculus 2 is considered to be the hardest of all three (calculus 1,2, and 3).
If you are strong in math- and not just do okay, like you are excelling in pre-calculus concepts and feel more than solid in the foundation- then yes, you can probably handle Calculus BC.
