Hello everyone! I had been accepted as standard admit and currently waiting for the results of my petition. I am not sure what is the main difference between DA and SA. Do the SA students have to study extra semester to get a bachelors? Or do we graduate to sophomore at the same time as the DA students? (I am not really familiar with US university educational system, i am international)
In terms of the curriculum, there is no difference between standard admits and direct admits. During your freshman year, classes will be a mix of standard admits and direct admits.
The main differences are:
-
If you are a standard admit, you must maintain a 3.5 GPA and attain A’s and B’s in the required classes (no B-'s) in order to gain admission to Kelley. If you don’t, you’re out of luck.
-
Direct admits have a lot more scholarship opportunities and a few exclusive opportunities to network during freshman year
Other than that, there’s not many differences. The main point is that your coursework is the same except standard admits have higher stakes. Once you’re a sophomore though, direct admission doesn’t matter at all.
wow, thanks for the answer so much! Had been looking for someone to explain that!
