only if double majoring pushes you into a 5th year, or to take more credit hours than you need to.

its not worth it unless a) the majors overlap a lot (finance/econ for example), or b) you genuinely have a deep passion for both subject. a minor means less, but at the same time makes your degree more specific. minors are easier to get and prepare you for your more specific future career path. for instance i’m majoring in econ, and plan to minor in math because graduate econ is very math intensive. you could major in education and minor in history if you wanted to be a history teacher. along those lines.

I assume you mean double majoring in comparison to majoring in something and having a minor.

Double majoring has the potential to cost more if you school charges per credit instead of like mine where there is a flat rate until you go over maximum credits. Also, you might have to take summer classes or classes at comm college to graduate in four years, which will of course force you to spend more money.

Also, obviously having two degrees could potentially give you a better chance of getting a job in a larger variety of fields (depending on what it is you plan on majoring in) versus one degree and a concentration. Potentially.

Like double majoring in Bio and Business would open up more opportunities in say labs or whatnot (lets assume just having a bachelors in bio will actually get you a job right after college) versus someone who majors in Business with a bio minor who will most likely have a harder time finding a more scientifically based job in comparison to the bio double major. Hypothetically of course.

What’s a good minor with a major in Psychology?

There are no good minors. Just pick something.

Like if you are interested in chemical/brain stuff of psych then minor in neurobiology or whatever its called. If you are interested in social behavior, minor in sociology and so on and so forth.
