What is the difference between EDI and EDII at Davidson? Is there one? Or are EDI and EDII just two separate times to say "Hey, I'd like to go here, first choice." Is one of the ED's easier to get into, or a softer reputation?

They're basically the same thing, in that they're both full commitments to come if you're admitted.

ED I - deadline is when most Early Decisions/Early Actions are (so what's that? Like Nov. 1st usually?) and you're notified in mid-December. ED II - deadline is the same as regular decision (Jan. 2nd, I think), and you're notified in February. Remember, both are binding.

I would think EDI would probably be easier, but at the same time, I suspect the difference would be slim or non-existent. You have a MUCH higher chance of getting into Davidson early decision than Regular. In my year, 48% of Early Decision applicants (between both ED I and ED II) were admitted, while 21% of Regular Decision applicants got in (note, for example, that 21% is the same percentage of Regular Decision applicants admitted at Cornell, and is even fewer than the percentage of those admitted at Duke).
It's obviously more competitive this year and will probably be even more so next year, mostly because of our basketball prowess and the run with Steph Curry, but it will undoubtedly still be easier to get in if you want to commit than if you're just applying RD.
