What is the difference between chemistry and materials science? Is materials science hard? I want to take one of those courses along with AP biology my sophomore year. Could I take materials science and then take AP chemistry the following year? Would taking materials science, rather than chemistry be more beneficial during AP chemistry? Vice versa? Which one should I take?
It depends on what materials science covers at your school. I would ask an advisor or the teacher for materials science at your school. It is helpful to take regular or honors chemistry before AP Chemistry. I would take chemistry and AP Biology sophomore year, then AP Chemistry junior year. Also considered making time for physics sometime throughout your HS career.
