<p>I have cable internet, time warner, I am not sure which router to get, N or G. </p>
<p>Is there a big difference? The wireless will be shared by 4 people total and cover roughly 1200 feet.</p>
<p>N has a higher broadcast power than G if I’m not mistaken, and also has higher data transfer speeds (which really only matters for data transfer between computers on the network; I doubt your internet connection is faster than 100Mbps).</p>
<p>However, those benefits of N are all for naught if your computer doesn’t have an N card.</p>

<p>you don’t really need wireless n right now. and though wireless n is supposed to be faster there have been some people i’ve heard of who have actually had the wireless range decrease. for now you should be pretty safe with a wireless g router. if and when wireless n really takes off you can invest in that if you need to.</p>
<p>There is no real difference. However, N does have a longer range than G does. I bought a 802.11G router recently and it is fine for my basic networking needs.</p>
