Some colleges list both secondary school report and high school transcripts as necessary in admissions process. What is the difference between the two?

Your high school transcript is the record of all of your grades earned throughout high school. I don’t think there are any colleges that do not require your transcript. A Secondary School Report consists of questions. Your counselor fills out the secondary school report and submits it to the college(s).

@bengalmombengal So,secondary school report is same for all colleges…right?

also if i have changed high schools midways ( 9th,10th in one and 11th,12th in another)…I would have to submit both the transcripts?..also who submits the transcripts,me or the counsellor?

Thanks for your help

you have to submit both transcripts and your counselor should submit the transcript

@guineagirl96 how will my counsellor at my new school submit my previous school’s transcript?

also do all colleges require secondary school reports?

Counselors submit the transcript these days electronically. Otherwise, transcripts are placed in a sealed envelope by the school that you can send but that is really not how it is done anymore. The vast majority of colleges require secondary school reports which your school sends off to the college. If your previous high school grades are not on your current transcript then both schools must send transcripts. If you switched schools in the same district all your grades should be there. Ask for a copy at your school of an unofficial transcript so you can see it. Each high school has a formal request process in which you request your transcript so that they can send it. Alot of schools use parchment.com to send transcripts. Your school should have their policies outlined as to how you need to request your transcripts and counselor recommendations which you need to follow.
