Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out how my financial aid is going to work so that I can fill out my housing application.

A friend told me that he wants to room in a dorm, because it is considered "on campus" and he gets more financial aid that way. I really wanted to apply for Wada. Is there any truth in what he is saying??

PS: I was selected for verification, and my parents STILL haven't done their tax returns. They filed for an extension and got it...but that doesn't help me complete my verification forms. What do I do!? It says I need to have the forms in by June 6!!

When I change my FA status to “residence Hall” my living expenses go up to $17,270, and my total cost is $31,074. Total resources to meet that: $29,552.

When I change my status to “living off campus” (which includes wada), my living expenses goes down to 12,826, and the total resources they offer me are 25,108, though they say my total cost will be $26,630. What is going on here?

Is this because the residence halls are that much more expensive than the off campus housing? Which would the better option be???

I believe this means that they give you more scholarship money to help you with on campus housing. If you decide to live off campus they will give you less scholarship money (aka aid).

You should call the financial Aid office for that last question. They might be able to work with you to get that done.

I did call them, they told me I’d save money going off campus, because residence halls are that much more expensive.
