Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is there an exact date when the EA decisions will be out, or is it a vague range (mid-December)? Also, will they be delivered via email or the myMIT site?

The official date won't be announced (or known) until early December. In past years, decisions have been available some day around December 15, and were available through the MyMIT site and via postal mail.

I believe last year it was around December 9th though.

how does the decision look like on the myMIT site

or once you login it says "Accepted/Deferred/Rejected" ?

Is the decision posted online before or after we receive the mailed decision?

lostinbalt, that would be really depressing if the decision was there right when you logged in lol

i myself have to stare at the screen for 15 minutes before i can click the link with the dreaded information on it.. like SAT scores :P

i think last year was december 9 (yes, i checked history of MIT Admission bloggers), so i hope this year it wont be much later.
DRUM ROLL... 6 weeks!

Its easy to tell. Close to the official date, you will automatically start panicking. Unless you're a cool cat. Then you're just being artificial though eh?

Usually the decisions are mailed on a certain day (often a Friday), then they are available online a day later (often a Saturday). So if you're within a day's mail distance from Boston, you might get your paper decision before the online one.
