What is the "EASIEST" college among BU colleges to get into?

I have a brother who is a junior and wants to go to BU. But he doesn’t have a good SAT or gpa. His GPA is 3.91 and his SAT score is so far 1540(M 530, CR 520, w490). He has a lots of Extra curricular activities though. He is taking and will take (in his senior year) 8 honors and 2 AP classes (including senior and junior)

What do you think will be the easiest college for him to get into among BU colleges? (He just wants to get into BU)

Bu Colleges are-------

School of Health science:Sargent College (SAR)
College of Arts and Sciences (CAS)
College of Communication (COM)
College of Engineering (ENG)
College of Fine Arts (CFS)
College of General Studies (CGS)
School of Management (SMG)
School of Education (SED)
Science and Engineering Program (SEP)

general studies by far

GCS definitely

Is College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) competitive? What's the SAT or GPA do you need for CAS?

CAS is slightly more competitive than General Studies which is by far, the easiest.

Average GPA for CAS is around a 3.5 and SAT around 1850.

How would you "rank" all the colleges of BU by the term EASIEST starting with CGS as the easiest. What would come next and what after that?

you can't really rank after CGS because it differs from person to person. i'm a science major and could never do business, and some business majors could never do science. but if you would like my ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE viewpoint (which differs for EVERYONE and really shouldn't even be taken into account):

(easiest) CGS
SEP (like CGS but for science majors)
SHA (school of hospitality administration that you left out above)
SED
CFA
COM
CAS (depends on your major-various from psych & archaeology to bmb & neuroscience)
SAR & SMG
ENG

i think he means the ease of ADMISSION, not ease of the actual course work

oh, in that case there is no college that has easier admission over another, its CGS & SEP & then the rest are equal

My nephew is a science major. He wants to get into BU at first (ANYWAY HE CAN) and transfer to College of Engineering (ENG). In order to do that which school will be easier to get into?

Does a person with 1560 SAT, 4.21 gpa with #8 rank (out of 317 students), good essay has any chance to get into College of Liberal Arts (CAS)? If he can't what would be the easiest college (among BU colleges) he should apply to?

he should just apply straight up to engineering and if they don't accept him he'll be considered for cgs/sep

is that a 1560/1600 or 2400?

That's 1560 out of 2400 and that's what he is worried about. He wants to apply to CAS and then if he gets in he wants to transfer to engineering school.

Do you think it's a good idea? Does he have any chance of getting in or he should straight forward apply to CGS and then transfer to ENG?

BobR-
Your posts are disturbingly inconsistent. Are you asking about your brother, your nephew, a friend or yourself as someone who is interested into getting into a given university any way he can and then transferring to Engineering? You've said both that you are from LA and from MA; that you are a senior with 1560/2400 and ranked 8 out of 317 and that you have a nephew with the same score and ranking. Gee, I don't want to be accusatory or anything, but you sure sound like you're playing games here.

Opps, did I type my nephew? Didn't realize that. I apologize for that. Actually I was talking to my cousin about my nephew. (He is on the same boat. Same rank/better sat than my brother, But different school though). I and my brother are from from LA and my nephew from MA. Now I am staying at MA for my spring break.

But thanks WCASParent for bringing that up. Sorry about that my nephew/brother thing. I am actually worried for both of them (they are let's say not that bright)

That's ok. We all make mistakes sometimes. But I think he has more like 60/40 shot of getting in.

I got a 1830/2400 sat score
and 3.58 GPA.
applied for ENG's BME
do I have any chance?

Dude, get your own thread. I don't think it is fair posting your stat in other people's thread. Besides it doesn't take that long to start a thread. So do that and we all will reply to that.
