What is the easiest major to get in?

ok. I totally believe you that nursing is easy to get into and an easy major. Guess I just don’t know much about northeastern.

Look how nice that was, I feel so much better now that I’m not hurting any feelings.

But this is getting off topic. The “easiest” majors are going to be the least popular. It’s not because the standards are more lax but because the school wants to fill the alloted spots for each major. Business, engineering, and all bouve majors are all popular and thus “harder” to get into, while within the CSA I’d imagine bio, psychology, and econ being some of the more popular.

The acceptance rates of students who apply for a major like human services is going to be significantly higher than rate for students in a bouve major. Each major has a certain number of spots. Human services gets very few (let’s pretend it’s 10) but they also get very few applicants (let’s pretend it’s 20). Pretend bio has 100 spots and 600 applicants. Simple math: Human services is easier to get into than biology.

This is all very over-simplified. Rate of acceptance isn’t a very good tool because it doesn’t involve the quality of students accepted, and when it comes to applying to the university, there are tons of factors involved, not just the major you’re applying to. But sure, very simplified: less popular major = easier to be accepted into.
