What is the 'easiest' major

I kind of need help choosing an 'easy' major. I don't mean to sound like a slacker or anything, but I'm joining the United States Marines after I graduate college and becoming an Officer. I spent one year at a public state school (Western Carolina University - not very prestigious) and I will be going to a local community college for my sophomore year of college. I managed a 3.45 GPA at WCU and I'm expecting a 3.5 - 3.7 GPA at my community college.

I plan on being in the USMC for quite some time, but I'm trying to plan ahead and graduate with a somewhat useful major. I'm minoring in Arabic/Middle Eastern Studies, but I still need to pick a major. I've thought about history - but I don't know what I would do with it. I've also thought about Physical Education or Entrepreneurship (I'd like to become a personal trainer in the future) but I can't find good links to those majors at the schools I want to attend.

I'm living in North Carolina and I'm pretty much forced to stay here (money issues). I've got my mind set on UNC or NC State as a Jr. college transfer. Does anyone think I could get into either of those schools - and what major would you recommend?

Chances at UNC?
NC State?
East Carolina?
UNC Wilmington?
What major would you go with?

Thanks

*I've also thought about opening my own personal training business/gym and I was wondering what type of major would be best for that? Sport Management? Nutrition? Business?

The easiest major is the one that you would most love to do. If nothing fits the bill, you may be in for a rocky road.

if i were you i would work really really hard and transfer to UNC.

Kinesiology I hear is pretty easy and fun while Nutrition can be difficult...

applied math?

Kinesiology is easy? Maybe compared to Engineering or biology, physics, chem, or similar majors.

Thanks for the laugh.

To the OP--if Phys Ed or Personal Training interest you, UNC has programs available in Exercise and Sport Science, Athletic Training, Fitness Professional (along lines of Personal Training/Strength Coaching or research), and Sport Administration. I don't know anything about the other schools, but I do know that UNC's programs are well-respected throughout the country, and if you'd also like some business classes, their b-school is great also.

Major in something you'll enjoy--if you like what you're studying, you're more likely to go to class, study, dig deeper into stuff that catches your eye, etc. This results in better grades. If you have no interest in the class, you'll be miserable going to class every day.

Applied math is easiest??!!??

No.

hobology???

General Studies

communications, marketing (my roommate once had an assignment that was "write a memo"), elementary education, psychology

How about Communications? It's usually considered an easy major, and it could be useful for a future career as an officer and in the fitness industry.

Does this look good?

Undergraduate Program

Yes, Nick95. UNC's EXSS department is respected, places alumni in good positions--check out the alumni link on that page, most are either working in their field, teaching in their field, or in grad school for a further advanced degree.

It's not an EASY major by any means, but if it interests you go for it. I'm a kinesiology major at another school and my classes can be challenging but I'm learning a ton and I love going to class. But I'm not really sure why you'd need an easy major to go into the Marines anyway....

Communications is one of the easiest "non-joke" majors.

Anyone with a 4 year degree is qualified for the exact same thing (if you are not going into the medical field). If you have a 4 year degree, you will be admitted to OCS (Officers Candidate School) and be on track to be an Officer.

International Relations and Affair is great after you get out of the marines, you could easily get a government jobs in the DOD,NSA or CIA.
