Top universities such as harvard, princeton, Uchicago and so on have acceptence rates of below 18%. However, this is the acceptence rate for the everyone.
What would be the acceptence rate for international students who are applying for generous financial aid? In other words, if 100 international students applied to each of these top universities, how many would get admission?

theres no set rule, but, in general, internationals have a lower acceptance rate than domestic applicants whether they apply for aid or not.

Having said that, harvard, yale , princeton etc are need blind. ie. whether u apply for aid or not does not affect your application.

others like uchicago are very stingy… they take about 15 internationals a year who want aid.

If you need aid, apply for it. You won’t get a student visa if you can’t provide evidence that your expenses will be covered by a scholarship, family resources, or a combination of the two.
