Hello! I'm currently a sophomore in high school, and I am considering applying to Princeton. I plan on majoring in English, so I would like to know what the Undergraduate (and Graduate) English Programs are like.

Thank you!

(Please don't judge me because of my indirect question. (Or prolific use of parentheses.))

It’s one of the top in the world.

I’ve taken 2 English classes at Princeton, and they were both amazing.

The first one was called “Princeton Reads” and the reading list was basically a selection of books written by Princeton professors. The course professor would talk about the book in the first lecture, and then the author would come in and have a discussion with the class about the novel for the second lecture. Hearing Toni Morrison, Joyce Carol Oates, and Jeffrey Eugenides talk about their novels was quite an awesome experience.

My son has taken Creative Writing classes from Oates and Eugenides both…
