What is the extracurricular essay on the common app supposed to do?

<p>Is it supposed to blow the adcoms away, cause that is difficult to do in 150 words...?</p>

<p>Or is it just supposed to provide information?</p>

<p>Or does it need to be about how I feel about my extracurricular activity, not how I engaged in the activity?</p>
