What is the FPF CalSO for? Is it worth the $190 and the two seven-hour car rides?

You get a tour, you get to sleep in the dorm (<--that's probably $50+ itself!), "free" breakfast, lunch and dinner, and get to ask as many questions as you possibly want.

also, only FPF calso has the dance party.

Dance party?

I printed out my CalSO confirmation and it said to bring:
"A backpack to carry your belongings (we're going to give you a lot of stuff!)"

What is this "stuff?" Cal paraphernalia?

And yeah, the seven-hour car ride to Cal Day was tiring enough.
I think my family might be flying there this time.

stuff = loads of information and goodies

are we required to attend CalSO if we're in FPF?

I think so...summer's boring and there's not much to do anyway. CalSO is fun and a good time to learn about Berkeley and get to know people.

You wish...mostly informational flyers and junk.

Not at all.

No one is required to attend CalSO, but you'll be the 4% of freshmen who don't!
