Hello.
For a student who just started study for ACT, which prep book is best? I have a Red Book, but I mena the prep book like TPR, Kaplan, etc. Has anyone used ACT for Dummies? I heard it is really good, but nee some thoughts!

Honestly the Red Book should be just fine. The most important part is doing practice tests and learning from your mistakes, and that book does a very good job of explaining the questions and answers of real practice tests. I used that book for about 4 hours total and got a 34 on my first time…

PR 1296 is good. I got that book first. It has a lot of practice questions for use in addition to the red book.

Yeah, I’d also recommend PR 1296 along with the Red book.

start with kaplan, the reading is very good, math…any book should be fine for math…as for english, i’d suggest barron’s 36, it REALLY lays it all out for you…but i’d first start with kaplan…(mcgraw hills and 1296 possibly for practice later one)

My dd already completed the red Real ACT prep guide a year ago and scored a 31.
She is retaking the ACT in June and doesn’t want to do repeat tests from the red book.
Is there another book that would be helpful for reviewing? Should I convince her to retake the tests in the red book?
