So I have a few courses I took out of state, will those be factored into my GPA for Schools like UCLA, CAL, UCSD? How do they factor your GPA exactly? Is your UC GPA only classes that show up on the assist website?

Your UC transferable GPA, which is what they use for admission purposes, is the sum of your GPA in all UC transferable classes whether from a California community college or any other in-state or out-of-state institution. The classes on assist.org are already pre-approved as UC transferable through articulation agreements between California community colleges and the UC’s. Classes from other institutions outside of the California CC system do not have articulation agreements with the UC’s; however, classes still may (and may not) be transferable. Since there are no articulation agreements or resources like Assist.org for those separate institutions, it’s difficult to know which classes from institutions outside of a California community college are transferable and will contribute to your UC transferable GPA used for admission. The only real option is to contact the admissions at the UC’s and ask them whether or not each class is transferable. Separate UC’s may also have separate policies and may differ on whether they believe a class is UC transferable. So in that situation it’s possible to even have separate UC transferable GPA’s among the UC’s.

What a great response, thanks for your input!
