What is the hardest majors?

Obviously, for the original poster it would be english. Just look at the title of the thread.

im an ee major and i have to say ee is definitely one of the hardest, if not the hardest major to study. Because electrical engineering concepts are being applied to many different fields, from communication to dsp, from remote sensing to power… Therefore, to earn a degree in ee, you have to take courses in all these different topics, however, you will find out that the materials in a dsp course are completely different from an electromagnetic course. On top of that, depends on the school that you are going to, often times, ee students are required to learn some programming.
I was reading some of the replies that other ppl have posted, i want to say that there is a big difference between time consuming and how difficult a major is. Just because a particular major is time consuming, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is difficult. Reading a 500 pg book can be time consuming, but is it difficult to read a 500 pages book? No
I know friends who are cs or ce major, they pull all nighters to do programming all the time. But in terms of the difficulty of the courses that students have to take, the curriculum for ee students is definitely more rigorous compare to ce and cs.
I don’t want to say or think about what is the hardest major, maybe ee is the hardest, maybe physics or some other unknown major is the hardest, the truth is who cares. I study ee b/c i think it is interesting, not b/c i want to tell ppl im studying one of the toughest major.

Probably EECS

In general the top 5 hardest majors are.

physics

All engineering - Engineering is hard all around.

Chemistry

Math/computer science

Biology

Anyone that says Pre-med is one of the hardest majors doesn’t know what they are talking about. There is no such thing as a pre-med major. You can’t get a degree in pre- med, or pre-law, or anything else with a pre in the word. lol You can take requirments that will get you into certain schools, but there are no pre-majors.

Also, a rule of thumb. Math oriented majors are the hardest ones. I am not saying other majors aren’t difficult to do but they dont compare to the math oriented majors.

In general, the top 5 flavors of ice cream (as judged by boneh3ad) are:

Mint Chocolate Chip

Chocolate

Cookie Dough

Pistachio

Chocolate Banana

Anyone that says that vanilla is one of the hardest majors just hasn’t seen the light yet, though it is certainly good. Flavors just take vanilla and add to it!

Also, a rule of thumb. Chocolate oriented flavors rarely disappoint me.

“Anyone that says that vanilla is one of the hardest majors just hasn’t seen the light yet, though it is certainly good. Flavors just take vanilla and add to it!”

I didn’t realize that vanilla was a major! Where do I sign up?!

(we did, in one of our frosh chemistry labs, synthesize pure vanillin through an esterification reaction… ultimately leading to pure vanillin crystals. that lab smelled so strong for the longest time… i couldn’t have vanilla for a few months after that)

Dang… mockery FAIL!

But if vanilla was a major, it would easily be the most delicious major!

In one of my frosh chemistry labs we synthesized whichever ester is responsible for the smell of bananas. Unlike you, I could still eat bananas.

mochilatto (mochi-gelat0) IS the hardest major!!! It’s the hardest major and it’s only available at little tokyo, los angeles… HA!

/lilpolo

I wouldn’t put Chemistry with the other 4 majors you mentioned there. All of chemistry classes I have taken were easier than intro level physics and lab. But then, I’m a chem major.

yg7s7, stop going off topic, this is the ice cream thread.

I tried a new ice cream flavor today. It is caramel ice cream with PB cups and peanut brittle and chocolate chunks. It is pretty awesome.

Coldstone’s cake batter is the best! :D

We did the banana smell lab in high school, I recall. At some point, I managed to set something on fire.

Currently in my freezer:
Slow turned…

Cookie Dough
Double Fudge Chocolate
French Vanilla

I am the ice cream master. I think I’ll go get a bowl of the double fudge chocolate…

In my freezer:

Mint Chip
Candy Jar (the aforementioned new flavor)

I will be having some Candy Jar in a while. God bless the Blue Bell Ice Cream Company!

On this page, I shall maintain that pepe nero, rosa, and viola are the best flavors of gelato, and that gelato is great. Sucks that Paciugo closes at ten…

I’m kind of tired of chocolate these days; I like lighter flavors.

That, madame, is blasphemy! Take it back, blasphemer!!!

I have this theory that women get force-fed chocolate by good husbands. I have an excellent husband who puts a piece of chocolate in my lunch every day, so I get a lot of chocolate. I love chocolate, but I have to be in the right mood in order to choose to eat it of my own volition.

(That, and a recent trip to the ER for chest-crushing gastro-esophageal reflux crud from some antibiotic conflicts has made me wary of anything more exciting than saltine crackers…)

Ah, I too have had a run-in with GERD and all the fun that entails. It seems that the human digestive tract is much less hardy than ideal.

What the bleep is up with all you Texans on here! Isn’t the country enough to take over? Now the interwebs?

On a more serious note:
I misspoke earlier. I have double fudge brownie.

“I’m kind of tired of chocolate these days; I like lighter flavors.”
Oh no you didn’t! You saying you don’t like dark flavors, but light ones? I think you’re an ice cream-ist. That’s right, I said it. You hate certain flavors based upon their color. Well I got news for you missy…

CHOCOLATE IS THE BOMB

Technically I am not a Texan, I am a displaced Illinoisan doing my grad work in Texas. I am not truly a Texan until I buy a truck and say “y’all”
