What is the ideal SAT score?

What should I get on my SAT if I want a good chance at Wharton ED?

Ideal? As "gives you the best chance"? Probably a 2400.

lol, I think he wants a minimum

average is around 1450 out of 1600

I guess 2100-2200 puts you in the range where they won't reject you by SAT score.

The ideal SAT score is the lowest possible one that still gets u in:) that means the least wasting time studying useless vocabulary. I got 2030 and got into Penn so I guess Im pretty close to the ideal score:)

Unless it took you all those hours of studying just to get to that "lowest possible" score.

I never studied for the SATs and got a 1980 and still got in....but I'm in the College and not Wharton, so it's different.

Thanks guys...I took the MAY SAT and I feel REALLY Good about it and I was just wondering what the standard scores were.

I have a question: on the Penn website it says that:

18% had lower reading sat score than 590
16% had lower math sat score than 590

Who are these people with these scores? minorities? (since 16% of the admitted are minorities)

Athletes, bud.

They're athletes, minorities, legacies.

hrm. I took an intro stat class that had a compilation of SAT scores from the class of 2009 i think. I'm pretty sure it's okay for me to post it here, if other penn students agree that it's okay for me to do so I'll put up another post with the data. You can then make histograms and whatnot and judge for yourself what is "acceptable"

Is it true that Penn looks only at M and V on the SAT and looks at the writing as if it was a SAT subject test?

It's public, Michael, who cares. Post away. I just don't post my personal stats because it's tacky.

I don't know how i would post a large excel file (2400 lines) so if anyone wants it, give me a pm with your email

Can you take math 1 and 2 for the subject tests? (to make 2 total)

No. I mean you can, but you're not gonna "trick" them...it would make you look very one dimensional and lame.

Eh just take Math IIC if you want to go with the best bet (I'd recommend not taking IC). It's harder math but the curve is sweeet.

The lower your score, the more you have to distinguish yourself in other areas in order to be noticed by the admissions committee.

The curve on Math IIC is crazy. I skipped around 8 problems and still got an 800.

Yes I remember it being rather difficult. I don't think I did very well, come to think of it...

In Math II you can ge 42 out of 50 and still have 800. While in Math I for having 49 out of 50 you get 790, 48 - 780, 47 - 770 and so on
