What is the image of top British Universities in the USA? I am just curious because I am going to study in the UK but might live in America in the future.

equal with the lower-tier Ivies

Most people are impressed by Oxbridge. Some would put them on par with HYPSM for prestige.

I meant Oxbridge, LSE, Imperial, UCL and Warwick by the top unis.

Most Americans aren't familiar with British universities besides Oxbridge. Perhaps certain employers or academic circles would be more familiar with the others.

"LSE, Imperial, UCL and Warwick"

Most likely equal to a Top-25

I'd say it's not even that; the lower-tier Ivies tend to win the cross-admit battles with Oxbridge here. I think Oxbridge would be an excellent option if you're considering academia and/or job opportunities in Britain. In terms of world prestige, Oxbridge is right up there with Harvard, but that hardly matters if you're looking for jobs in a specific regional context. If you're looking to come to the United States, I wouldn't even consider anything else but Oxbridge.

I study at Warwick and I live in the Bay Area and many people in East Coast are familiar with LSE, UCL, Imperial and Warwick

LSE and Imperial: US lower tier Ivy

UCL and warwick: top-25

It also differs by field (as does any school). LSE is much higher regarded if you study economics than if you study French Literature. Imperial compares more with Caltech or MIT than with Harvard. UCL is very highly regarded in Archaeology. The university as a whole is harder to judge.

When I was in the US, Warwick was not particularly well regarded.
