I feel terrible, since some of my peers have a better cumulative G.P.A. then I do.
My rank is not that high, despite what some tell me, (I'm number 18 out of 688)...what should I do?

Rank is important because it puts your GPA in context of your school and your peers. Ultimately, the toughest competition you’ll be facing when you apply to top schools is your peers.

There’s nothing you can do about it now except focus on getting good senior grades.

College Admission Officers care MORE about the rigorous and grades you get in your classes, not ranks. Unless you are valedictorian or something huge.

Class rank holds more importance in some schools than others, but it’s definitely only a small chunk of your overall application.
Also, your rank is still really good! You’re in the top 3% of your school so you really do have a shot at a lot of the bigger schools.
However, if you really are that worried about your peers I would suggest making sure you have solid extracurriculars that make you stand out. High test scores would also help make you more competitive despite the students that are ranked above you.
