What IS the linguistics and computer science major?

So i was looking at UCLA's profile of admitted transfer students and found this major. apart from the other CS majors having what seems like low application numbers and pitifully low admittance rate, there is this other CS major that isn't even in the school of engineering, but in Letters and Science.
The statistics of this major is equally confusing, only 9 students applied and 4 got in. The GPA is less than that of other CS majors, which leads me to believe there is more emphasis on the linguistics side rather than CS. why did so few people apply for this major? is it even a good choice for a CS student who isn't too good at math, but still wishes to pursue that major(or is it aimed at linguistics majors)? i looked on assist.org for my local community college and there was no information at all.

Major in HSSEAS: Engineering, which comes with different college requirements as far as GE and foreign languages are concerned. Includes more science pre-requisites to include chemistry, math, and of course physics.

Major in L&S: As noted, Linguistics PLUS CS, which specifically requires a sixth term in a foreign language. HSSEAS has no foreign language requirement. Linguistics is very common with computer science and cognitive science. This major is great if you are interested in the linguistics side just as much as the computer science side, because the course requirements have a good representation of classes from both departments.
