i should be able to tell you soon, assuming that my brother gets in somewhere. he applied to ucla  , sd, sb, irvine, merced with a 2.81 or something...

what about the lowest to USC?

UCLA requires a 3.2.

Well you can be admited by exception too. I think it all depends.

no, my fd got into UCLA geography with a 2.8. And I heard from my fd that his fd got into UCLA biochemisty with a 2.8 also.

my friend's friend's cousin's sister got into UCB with a GPA 1.5...j/k

Haa, yeahhh, that's going a little out there, Shirley.

Allena- Do you know a site with information to verify the UCLA minimum GPA? On some documents I've seen, UCLA doesn't list a minimum where other schools do; instead they list that 3.5 is the average.

I shall list more. 2.8@UCI. 2.8@UCSB

Me--3.3 GPA got in UCR in Fall 2004 for Computer Engineering as a FRESHMAN. (3.3 GPA in high school is pretty low)

My high school friend also named Kevin with same 3.3 GPA (he ranked 2 places lower than I did in the same high school)--got in UCR and UCSB for Engineering (I forgot which one but probabbly Electrical Engineering) and he has been studying at UCSB for almost 2 years already.

My friend's sister (from the same high school) got into UCLA with about 3.8 GPA. (the average for admitted freshman students should be 4.1 something if i'm not mistaken) and another friend has just been accepted to UCLA with about 3.9 GPA as a freshman student but she has great ECs, great awards and great essays.

This thread makes me feel alot better at my chances of getting into to UCSB (as a transfer) with a 3.29.

Coast, your chances are EXTREMELY good.

UCSB is pretty much on par with UCR when it comes to transfer admissions....very easy to gt into. I hear that if you complete your prereqs and have 2.8 you are guaranteed admission

As an omniscient being, I sense that you will be accepted to UCSB.

3.15 UCLA iranian studies
3.12 UCLA biochem.

iranian studies??? i had no idea ucla had that as a major...

well, considering how many persians there are in west la/beverly hills, it's not surprising.

16 people applied and 11 were admitted into iranian studies for Fall 2005.

It was actually a poster here. He came in in June scared he was gona get his admission revoked b/c he got like 3 C last semester.... Dunno what happened.

I told my friend to apply as that major... We'll c if he gets in...
