what is the lowest SAT

Thank God for somebody nice here!

Not nice, just aware of the real weight of the IMO. MIT and CIT in particular are keen to recruit the smartest people, and great mathematicians are just that.

That said, what school are you at now and why are you there?

I am at University of Wisconsin - Madison. It was the only school that I applied to, because of state tuition. However, now my income would qualify me for a full ride at a need-blind school so I decided to apply. Aside from money, I ranked #1 in all my science and math courses (class sizes 300-400+). It felt nice at first but now I am just horribly bored. Transferring would definitely give me some competition, which is the only way that I can really better myself.

I'm sorry you're so upset with my input. I don't think my lack of having taken calculus really hinders my ability to determine weather or not a particular student is fit for a particular school, but if you'd like to base your judgement around that, so be it. I chose a community college because of several different things, namely I wasn't able to attend the schools I wanted to right out of high school. I don't think that will affect your chances at MIT, though, so I'm not sure why you asked. Your attending UW may, however, as explaining why you chose to attend that school rather than a top-ten University may help further your cause. With that said, best of luck to you, and hopefully your brash temperment won't keep you from finding the success you seem to deserve.

dude, if you are ranked #1 in those classes, chances are you will be ranked at the top at another place

Univ of Wisc at Madison has some truly bright students (maybe not all, but ivy caliber kids do exist over there.

hey bball, i've been meaning to ask you some questions about cornell. i think i really like the school.
do you know if the admissions people there are really conservative, because my essay came a little provocative, i think.

Martin, stop thinking you are better than everyone else. If anything keeps you out of MIT, your arrogance and cockyness WILL.

Your SAT is perfectly fine.

Martin, what school within Cornell ru doing, College of Engineering or Arts/Sciences

I feel for that and I strongly I agree that I could be excessively supercilious at times. I guess talking to pepople who are posting just to put down anything I say, or prove me worthless gets really weary.

P.S. that is my moniker not my name.

bball: arts and sci

i think that Cornell is a pretty liberal place, but it does have some Republicans, but any ivy league in the north-east, will usually be quite liberal. I really don't think this should be a concern of yours. If I was an applicant, I wouldn't ever talk about some highly controversial subjects b/c you don't know what buttons your purshing, i.e. gay marriages, abortions, etc....
