What is the maximum GPA possible in high school years?

<p>I have frequently heard from contemporary news and such, that the maximum GPA is 4.0.
However, others have mentioned of obtaining an 4.5 GPA? How is that possible?</p>

<p>It depends on your schools scale, some school weight honors and APs one extra point, so in regular classes an A=4 B=3 etc and in honors and APs an A=5 B=4 etc.</p>
