what is the next step?

Yay!! I got admission to U.Rochester, my dream school. I am excited.
I got an email from the financial aid office about completing the required documents for need-based scholarship.

I have few questions:

1) Is the process & the people handling need-based financial aid is different than people handling the merit based scholarship?

2) When will I hear about merit scholarship?

3) Do I have to do anything to be considered for merit scholarship? like filling out any forms etc

4) In my application I did mention, that I need to be considered for financial aid, & I meant it to be for merit scholarship.

Please advice, what I should be doing next so I will be considered for merit scholarship.

Thanks so much!! I am looking forward to study in my dream school...I am so happy..happy..

First of all, congratulations! Now, to answer your questions:

1.) The process that determines need-based aid is determined through the Financial Aid office, while the Admissions Office is responsible for determining merit based aid. Both are part of a colleges Enrollment Office and the responsibilities are shared to some extent, but they are separate entities.

2.) You should hear about a merit scholarship via e-mail within 5 days of recieving your admission letter

3.) You are automatically considered for merit based scholarships by applying- there are no separate forms or applications that you need to complete.

Lastly, send me a private message if you have any specific questions about your personal application and potential to recieve merit scholarship.
