During my college I think it is the most challenging part that I really need time to deal with… College life is really different from HS… You really need to manage things by yourself… Like, prepare your meals, do the laundry etc. But It’s also the most exciting part… I’m thankful though 'coz I’ve learned many things by myself and that I’ve grown independently…

Honestly I think it would be the “being away from family” part. I’m in the IB program at my high school and many of friends who were seniors last year came back recently saying that this year was a piece of cake as compared to our IB classes :)

academics would be the most shocking

Spanish courses in Spain

I think early in this thread it was more of the other things. But as of 2009, it is definitely swaying toward the financial impacts and stresses.

DEFFINANTLY money. Although I can get into most colleges that I’m aiming for, I can’t pay for them x_x. and I’m not interested in graduating with debt!

the social thing doesn’t affect me much, because i’ve switched schools at least five times already. and managed to keep contact with people from different places. my problem is keeping motivated to do stuff, because my downfall for senior year - senioritis.

oh and MONEY. because i’m poor… ):

The only ones who don’t see money as an issue are those who have it :/

Academics, everything else would be hard but i’d just have to adjust…academics though I have to seriously be good and ready and be able to keep up which worries me a little.

I think everyone has got problem with that… :(

Making friends.

My current friends reassure me that I’m going to have friends in uni; but of course, we don’t know if you’re gonna be the one that everyone hates.

In terms of academics, I think uni will be much easier compared to IB. Ugh.

I know my biggest problem could “potentially” be living with a roommate. For one, I don’t like people to touch certain things of mine because I know that some people are very irresponsible and don’t care for others’ belongings. Since I’m a very clean, tidy person, I know I’d have a problem with a dirty roommate. I cannot stand to live in filth.

Other than that, if my roommate is responsible and takes care of both his and my belongings, and if he at least takes some initiative to keep the room clean/decent looking then there won’t be a problem.

I definitely won’t have a problem with adjusting to academics, being away from friends/family/girlfriend or adjusting to a new social world. I like challenges and meeting new people. I’m extremely outgoing. The point of college is to experience a whole new world!

I’m not really concerned about anything. I’m fine with more homework and I can make new friends and easily to the new social world.

my school is pretty easy…so i’m dreading the heavy workload…>.<

i’m going to an extremely rigorous academic school, so most definitely the workload.

hey, i got accepted, i’ll get through it. that’s what i keep telling myself

i like this thread.

The roommate part, but also being able to control myself and manage my time well (waking up on time, not procrastinating, etc.)

Paying for college.

I’m come from a very poor family and even though I’m doing very well and high school and I’m getting scholarships and financial aid it still doesn’t cover all of it and my parents aren’t paying for anything at all so I don’t know if I’ll struggle for money or not I’ll just have to see.

Adjusting to the academics…

I took 3 AP courses in high school and never got higher than a 3 on the tests. I never took AP chemistry or any AP science for that matter and I am at freaking UC Berkeley trying to major in Chemical Engineering. Over half my general chemistry class got 5s on their exams and it’s hard keeping my confidence up >.<
