What is the Open Curriculum?

When Brown sends your transcript, they also send a letter something like this:
<a href="http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/documents/GPA_Statement.pdf%5B/url%5D">http://www.brown.edu/Administration/Dean_of_the_College/documents/GPA_Statement.pdf</a></p>

You can calculate your own GPA if you like, or the employer / school can calculate it themselves based on your grades.

usually, for grad school and employers you calculate an "unoffical GPA" that is unweighted and based upon the classes you took for a grade. this system works very well for brown students and holds up all the impressive stats brown boasts

(goldman sachs is the number one employer, 100% of students can into one of their top three choices for business school, 90% for law school, med school, etc.)
