Being in the second half on my Junior year, I'm in the process of looking up universities that would appropriately suit me. I've been looking at different "chance" threads on CC, and although they are helpful (as I get to compare my stats, numbers, and ec's to others and see whether or not they have a shot at a certain school), I frequently do see people chancing someone for a school, let's say Harvard, and then the person chancing asking them to chance them back for the same school, or a very similar school, for example, Harvard and Princeton.

What's the point of this? It's like a doctor asking if he should diagnose a patient for a certain disease, and then telling someone else if they should diagnose their patient for the same disease; in other words, the blind leading the blind.

If you know someone else's chances, you should know your own chances... right?
