What is the point of going to a 4 year directly?

I am just wondering if youre not planning on becoming a doctor instead of going to a 4 year and spending alot of money why dosent everyone go to a cc take cheap classes (general ed) then transfer to a 4 year of their choice (such as berkeley or ucla) and this is excluding the people who want to go to ivy leagues just good 4 years.
If someone told me I could take my general ed clases at a cc spend less than half the money then transfer to the uc of my choice I would not even think otherwise,

Yea, plus I think that a lot of kids mature more at a cc instead of going away right away. It is a money saver plus you can get on easier as a transfer and the bottom line is your BA or BS is still from the 4yr uni.

I agree.

If the experience or services that you get at a four year college don’t interest you (or if they don’t interest you sufficiently to justify the cost difference), then go the CC transfer-track route. A lot of people prefer the facilities, resources, students, faculty, and support at a 4 year college and that’s why they start there.
