To make a difference in the world in the short and privileged life we have on earth. (cliche…)

gotakun, the difference between your believing you could give your life for your friends and Jesus having given His life is this: He gave His life to His friends and those who hated Him to death; and, you have yet to give your life.

God let himself be killed, knowing full well that he could (and planned to) un-die three days later. Granted, that can’t have been very fun. But I’d die for my friends all the time, if I knew that my death was only going to last three days.

especially if i knew dang well i’m gonna be throned ‘the king of heaven’ or something after that :D

Yeah, because he’d post here after he gave his life for someone.

^,^^IIRC, the main bit wasn’t dieing as much as separation from God. I could be wrong though.

You may be willing to die for your friends, but how about those who hate you for no reason–like those who nailed Jesus. Then, would you be willing to go to hell for three days, whether you knew you were going to be resurrected or not. I sure as heaven would NEVER want to experience the severity of hell for one nanosecond.

how can jebus be separated from god? he is god :D

oh this is so like discussing how santa delivers presents all over the world in a day

@TrueLove
they didn’t hate jebus for no reason. he was a blasphemer!!!1!
whether one knows or not, jesus knew he was gonna be resurrected

so much for true love…

I am an epic fail; He, thank God, is an epic win :)! And that is just one reason I love Jesus Christ.

Quote:
“how can jebus be separated from god? he is god”

Dude, He’s God. He can do anything our pea sized brain can never comprehend.

Arghhh! Religious talk. I can’t relate. Sorry.

But I just realized what the point of life is? To torture us. To torture our poor souls and tricking us into thinking life is great when in reality we start off as nothing and end up as nothing. Just dirt.

Sorry guys. Final exams are coming up. I get pretty depressed and all “Debbie Downer” around this time. :(

Arghhhh! Secular talk. How boorish and usually truthless.

Well, it’s actually to survive everyday without being killed. But since there are modern technology we are more concerned about money, success and social background. Plus the point of living depends on people’s values and culture.

In summary, just don’t regret anything at the end of your life.

I don’t think that telling you that everything you’ve been raised to believe in is wrong is “no reason”, and I’m also pretty sure that no mainstream Christian tradition says Jesus went to hell ever…

I was just kidding about the religious talk. Even though I’m what one may call an “agnostic”, I don’t really have anything against religious people (except those who state how God is about loving everybody yet they preach hate).

I agree with you archi92 – you can’t regret what you have done in life (unless it was something dramatic like a meth addiction that you still can’t kick o_0)

I’m not willing to die for anyone, except maybe my children when/if I ever have them.

The point of life is to not spend your entire life trying to figure out the point of life.

It’s just that simple =)

Just live life. You’ll figure out the point eventually.

Leave those stupid questions for the ivory tower.

Religion is a construct of society. Those who revel in it are puppets.

the person who said that had no ill will towards the girl and you know it. how about you become a real life hero by becoming a martyr for the atheist cause.

So, since Im Christain, this is how I feel:

Live is a test. It is a test to see if you are worthy of going back to live with our Heavenly Father. Everything you do is being watch by God. You will be punish if you sin, probably not in this life, but you will in the next. We are not here just to be here. Our purpose in life is to be the best person you could be and become closer to God while doing so. Follow Jesus Christ foot steps (except for the miracles), learn and preach the Gospel, love and help one another just like you love yourself, and love God with all our might. When we do those things we will be reward. We will find more hapiness beyond our wildest dream, but its not going to be in this life. God knows we arent perfect, but if we genuinly try to do these things, we will be in paradise in the after life.

This is what i believe in. I respect your believes, please respect mine.
