For those who took the class, can you tell me what is the requirement you need to meet before taking Chem. 6A??
And is it hard (similar to AP chemistry??)
THANKS!!!!

I haven't taken the class yet but my friend said its pretty similar to AP chemistry.

From the university catalog...

6A. General Chemistry I (4) First quarter of a three-quarter sequence intended for science and engineering majors. Topics include: stoichiometry, gas laws, bonding, atomic theory, quantum theory, and thermochemistry. Three hours lecture, one hour recitation. Prerequisites: proficiency in high school chemistry or physics. Math. 10A or 20A or a higher course in the Math. 10 or 20 sequence (may be taken concurrently). (F,W,S)

hope this helps

I am a ChemE major. Wondering if I need to take that web-based or whatever chemistry test... Or do they exempt you from that test if you have a Chemistry SAT II score higher than a certain score like the one for math?

drew770, where did you get the university catelog(do you have to order it)?
So that means if I'm going to take Math20A-then I can register for Chem. 6A?

the catalog is online... http://www.ucsd.edu/catalog/

thank you very much!!!!
