looking at this forum, it seems that the majority of members believe the purpose is to work.

so what is it's purpose?

i believe the purpose is to use "is" instead of "it".

To make other peoples lives miserable.

To post chance threads that cause depression.

To ask what is the purpose of human life is like to ask what is the purpose of rocks. There is no purpose.

rocks contain minerals which are needed for nutrition. they also support all the life on the planet.

Is that their purpose? Did somebody create them so they could do that? Or did a bunch of life forms just come along and found they could use them that way? And what of the rocks on the moon, what purpose do they serve?

Good question. We might find out after we die, but most likely we'll just cease to exist without ever finding out.

well I'm asking you what YOU think the purpose is. Anything else would be arguable. So in the human perspective, that is the purpose of life. The purpose of moon rocks is to reflect sun light. The purpose of humans, in many CC'ers' opinions, is to work.

The purpose of human life is to produce more human life.

What's the point of producing more human life if they have no purpose other than that as well?

Humans have become too intelligent....animals were never supposed to be able to ask questions like this. My dog is way happier than me. no doubt about it.

to have fun

Exactly. Life is meaningless.

^ something must have caused the universe to come into existence, though. we know about the big bang, so we know the universe hasn't always been.

edit: i wish i were a math genius so i could become a physicist and try to figure everything out. damn my 800 CR, it will never help me understand the world.

this will get moved to the cafe haha.

Two reasons:

1) To keep the species alive
2) To give life purpose

For something to have a purpose, it must have been made with that purpose. Otherwise it's just a thing that it does, not a purpose. Nobody created the moon rocks thinking "there, now the beings on Earth shall have light."

so if you have no purpose, why are you still here?

Humans cannot understand the meaning of life. It is too complex for their brains to handle. Just like dogs cannot understand how a television works.
